Terms of Service
Last revised: November 3, 2026
This is a reference translation. The Japanese version is the official text and prevails in case of any discrepancy.
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) set out the conditions of use of the Hiyori (Feng Shui AI Floor Plan Analysis) service (the “Service”) provided by KNOXIA Inc. (the “Company”). Users use the Service on the basis that they agree to these Terms.
Article 1 (These Terms)
- The purpose of these Terms is to set out the rights and obligations between the Company and Users in relation to the use of the Service, and these Terms apply to all relationships between Users and the Company concerning the use of the Service.
- In these Terms, a “User” means an individual who has registered an account for the Service.
- The Service is a web service and iOS app that provides feng shui scores and advice based on the floor plan images uploaded by Users and information they enter, such as compass directions. Rooms are recognized in the floor plan image by AI analysis using the Google Gemini API (generative AI provided by Google LLC), and the scores and advice are calculated using the Company’s own judgment rules.
- The Service’s diagnosis results are reference information based on feng shui thinking and do not guarantee any particular result in choosing a home or making any other decision.
Article 2 (Eligible Users)
- The Service is intended mainly for personal use by general consumers.
- The Service is intended for people aged 18 or over. People under 18 may not use the Service or purchase a Room-Hunting Pass or Support.
- When registering an account and purchasing a Room-Hunting Pass or Support, the User represents and warrants that he or she is 18 or over.
- If a person under 18 starts using the Service, or purchases a Room-Hunting Pass or Support, by using deceit such as falsely claiming to be 18 or over, that person may not rescind the act on the ground of being a minor, under Article 21 of the Civil Code of Japan.
- If the Company finds that a User is under 18, the Company may suspend or delete that User’s account.
- In addition to these Terms, Users shall comply with the guidelines and other rules that the Company may establish separately.
Article 3 (Registration and Withdrawal)
- Use of the Service requires authentication with a Google or Apple account. After confirming the notice of agreement to these Terms and the Privacy Policy shown on the login screen, the User registers an account by logging in with a Google or Apple account and providing the information that the Company specifies. By registering an account, the User agrees that the content of these Terms forms the content of the contract.
- Users are responsible for properly managing their own account information and shall not allow a third party to use it, or lend, transfer, sell or otherwise dispose of it.
- Users may withdraw and delete their account at any time by the procedure the Company specifies. Once the deletion procedure is complete, the User can no longer log in to the Service or view diagnosis history or other User data. The Company retains account information, User information such as profile details, uploaded floor plan images, diagnosis results and purchase records after the account is deleted, for the purposes set out in Article 4 of the Privacy Policy. If you would like these deleted, please contact the contact point stated in the Privacy Policy.
- Data cannot be restored after withdrawal, so please be aware of this in advance.
- Article 7, paragraph 4 sets out how a User who is using a Room-Hunting Pass is treated when withdrawing.
Article 4 (About the Service)
- The Service recognizes rooms in floor plan images by AI analysis using the Google Gemini API (generative AI provided by Google LLC), and then, based on the recognition result, calculates feng shui scores and advice using judgment rules in which the Company has organized feng shui thinking. These results (the “Diagnosis Results”) are reference information, and the Company does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of the Diagnosis Results or their fitness for a particular purpose. The Company may also write the summary text of the Diagnosis Results using the Google Gemini API. The text written is general reference information based on feng shui thinking, and the Company does not guarantee its accuracy or usefulness.
- Decisions and actions based on the Diagnosis Results (including, but not limited to, choosing a rental property) are made at the User’s own judgment and responsibility.
- The lucky-direction map on the Service’s website uses Google Maps provided by Google LLC. Use of Google Maps is subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service (https://maps.google.com/help/terms_maps.html) and the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
- The Company does not warrant that the Service is free of bugs, security defects, errors or malfunctions, that it does not infringe the rights of third parties, or that it has the qualities and performance that Users expect.
Article 5 (Fees and the Free Trial Period)
- The Service consists of a period during which it can be used free of charge (the “Free Trial Period”) and a paid service, the “Room-Hunting Pass”. In addition, the Company sells “Support”, as set out in Article 8-2.
- The Free Trial Period is 72 hours from the time the User’s first new feng shui diagnosis is accepted, and during that time the User can use up to 10 feng shui diagnoses. The Free Trial Period is available only once per User and does not start merely because an account has been registered. The Free Trial Period ends when 72 hours have passed or 10 diagnoses have been used, whichever comes first, and after it ends, new feng shui diagnoses cannot be used unless the User has a valid Room-Hunting Pass. Viewing past diagnosis results and viewing shared result pages remain available after the Free Trial Period ends.
- To determine the one-time-per-User limit in the preceding paragraph, the Company records hash values created from the User’s email address (normalized) and device ID (iOS app only; identifierForVendor), and retains them even after the account is deleted. If any one of these matches a record from a past Free Trial Period, a new Free Trial Period will not start. For both the email address hash and the device ID hash, the retention period is at least one year after the account is deleted. The handling of hash values is set out in the Privacy Policy.
- The Free Trial Period is counted from the first new feng shui diagnosis accepted on or after 00:00 on November 1, 2026 (Japan time). The same applies to people who used feng shui diagnosis before that date.
- Only newly accepted feng shui diagnoses are counted when determining the number of diagnoses in the Free Trial Period and the usage limit in Article 6, paragraph 1. Re-diagnosis from an existing diagnosis result and re-runs after correcting the compass direction or room coordinates are not counted. Diagnoses that did not complete are also not counted; however, diagnoses that did not complete because of the submitted content, such as an image that is not a floor plan, are counted.
- Communication costs incurred in using the Service are borne by the User.
- If the Company changes the price or content of the Room-Hunting Pass, it will announce the change and its effective date on the Service before the effective date, in accordance with Article 15, paragraph 3. A price change applies to one-time purchases made on or after the effective date, and to the first renewal that falls on or after the effective date for the 1-month plan (monthly) and the previously offered auto-renewing plans. Price changes for Room-Hunting Passes purchased in the iOS app follow the procedures set by Apple. If a User of the 1-month plan (monthly) or a previously offered auto-renewing plan does not agree to the new price, the User can stop using the pass without being charged the new price by canceling by the method in Article 7 before the first renewal date and time on or after the effective date.
Article 6 (Room-Hunting Pass)
- The Room-Hunting Pass is a paid service that allows the User to use feng shui diagnosis during the purchased period. However, to keep the Service stable and prevent misuse, the Company may temporarily restrict use that is concentrated in a short time.
- The Room-Hunting Pass comes as one-time purchases of the 1-day plan, 1-week plan and 1-month plan, and as the 1-month plan (monthly). The period of a one-time purchase runs from the time the purchase is completed: 24 hours for the 1-day plan, 7 days for the 1-week plan, and one calendar month for the 1-month plan (Japan time; if the following month has no corresponding day, until the end of that month), and it does not renew automatically. The 1-month plan (monthly) renews automatically as set out in Article 7. The 7-day plan and 1-month plan (auto-renewing) that were previously sold are no longer sold to new customers, and the previous conditions continue to apply to people who have already purchased them. The price is the price shown on the pricing page of the Company’s website or, for purchases in the iOS app, on the App Store purchase screen. Details of prices and payment methods are set out in the Notice Based on the Specified Commercial Transactions Act (Japanese).
- Payment for the Room-Hunting Pass is processed through in-app purchase provided by Apple Inc. for purchases in the iOS app, and through the payment service provided by Stripe via the purchase management service provided by RevenueCat, Inc. for purchases on the website. The terms and other rules set by these providers also apply to payment. The Company does not hold Users’ credit card numbers.
- The right to use a Room-Hunting Pass is granted to the account that made the purchase. Whether purchased on the website or in the iOS app, it can be used on both the website and the iOS app by logging in with the same account. The right of use cannot be transferred to a third party.
- If you perform “Restore Purchases”, the purchase is transferred to the account on which the operation was performed, and from then on the Room-Hunting Pass can be used only on that account. In that case, the Room-Hunting Pass can no longer be used on the original account used at the time of purchase.
- While you hold a valid Room-Hunting Pass, you cannot purchase another one, whether one-time or monthly. To switch from monthly to a one-time purchase, cancel the monthly plan and purchase after its period ends. A one-time right of use is not extended automatically when its period ends. Even if you purchase again on both the website and the iOS app for some reason, the usable periods are not added together. In that case, please stop any auto-renewing pass in accordance with Article 7. Whether a refund is given will be decided case by case.
- The Company may grant a User the right to use a Room-Hunting Pass free of charge for a campaign, as compensation for a malfunction, or otherwise when the Company considers it necessary. The period and other conditions of a right of use granted free of charge are determined by the Company. A right of use granted free of charge does not renew automatically and cannot be exchanged for cash or refunded. If a User violates these Terms, or in any other case the Company considers appropriate, the Company may revoke a right of use it granted free of charge.
Article 7 (Auto-Renewal and Cancellation)
- The 1-month plan (monthly), and the 7-day plan and 1-month plan (auto-renewing) that were previously sold, are auto-renewing subscriptions. Unless the User cancels, they renew automatically for the same plan at the end of each period, and the price at the time of renewal is charged. The Company does not send individual notice before renewal.
- Users can cancel (stop auto-renewal) by the following methods. If you cancel after the following deadline, the fee for the next period is incurred, and auto-renewal stops at the end of that period.
- If purchased on the website: open the purchase management page from the Service’s plan screen and cancel before the next renewal date and time.
- If purchased in the iOS app: go to your device’s Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions and cancel by the deadline set by Apple (currently 24 hours before the next renewal date and time).
- Even after canceling, you can continue to use the Room-Hunting Pass until the end of the period already paid for. The right of use expires when the period ends, and unless any of the Free Trial Period in Article 5 remains, new feng shui diagnoses can no longer be used.
- Deleting your account for the Service does not stop auto-renewal with Apple or the payment provider. Users shall cancel by the method in the preceding paragraph before deleting their account. When the account is deleted, the right of use for the remaining period expires.
- One-time purchases of the Room-Hunting Pass (the 1-day plan, 1-week plan and 1-month plan) do not renew automatically. The right of use expires when the period ends, and there are no ongoing charges.
Article 8 (Refunds)
- Because the Room-Hunting Pass is digital content, no refund is given after purchase, and no pro-rated refund is given for cancellation during a period. However, this does not apply where a refund is required by law, or where, for a Room-Hunting Pass purchased on the website, the Company recognizes that the User has truly unavoidable circumstances.
- Refunds for a Room-Hunting Pass purchased in the iOS app are requested by the User from Apple in accordance with Apple’s refund policy. The Company cannot cancel payments made through the App Store.
- If the Company ends the provision of the entire Service for its own reasons, it will refund, on a pro-rated basis, the fee corresponding to the unused period after the end date for a Room-Hunting Pass purchased on the website. For a Room-Hunting Pass purchased in the iOS app, because the Company cannot cancel payments made through the App Store, it will respond by guiding the User on how to request a refund from Apple or by other means the Company considers appropriate.
Article 8-2 (Support)
- “Support” is a one-time digital product that a User purchases to support the Service, and it is provided by displaying a thank-you message from the Company on the screen when payment is completed. If the completion of payment cannot be confirmed on the screen because of the state of communication, a purchase awaiting approval or other circumstances, the thank-you message will be displayed the next time the User opens the Support screen after payment is completed. If the thank-you message is not displayed, please contact the contact point in Article 18. The Company will respond individually. The price of Support is paid to the Company as consideration for this product and is not a donation. The purchase price of Support is not eligible for donation deductions or other tax deductions.
- The price of Support is the price shown on the Support page of the Company’s website or, for purchases in the iOS app, on the App Store purchase screen. Details of prices and payment methods are set out in the Notice Based on the Specified Commercial Transactions Act (Japanese). One purchase of Support is one item, and Support can be purchased any number of times.
- Payment for Support is processed through in-app purchase provided by Apple Inc. for purchases in the iOS app, and through the payment service provided by Stripe via the purchase management service provided by RevenueCat, Inc. for purchases on the website. The terms and other rules set by these providers also apply to payment. The Company does not hold Users’ credit card numbers. The handling of information associated with payment is set out in the Privacy Policy.
- Purchasing Support does not grant any additional features, benefits or other advantages beyond the thank-you message in paragraph 1. Support does not affect the right to use a Room-Hunting Pass, the length or number of diagnoses in the Free Trial Period, or any other content of the Service.
- The Company does not change its provision of the Service, the Diagnosis Results or its treatment of Users in any other respect depending on whether, how many times or in what amount a User has purchased Support.
- Because Support is a digital product, no returns, cancellations or refunds are given after purchase. However, this does not apply in any of the following cases.
(1) Where a refund is required by law
(2) Where, for reasons attributable to the Company, the thank-you message in paragraph 1 was not provided even though payment was completed, or where the User was charged twice or in the wrong amount
(3) Where a purchase by a person under 18 is rescinded under the Civil Code or other laws - If the Company suspends or deletes an account for reasons attributable to the Company, if a serious failure occurs in the Service, or if the Company ends the provision of the entire Service for its own reasons, the Company will consider and respond individually, with a refund or other measures, regarding Support already purchased.
- Refunds for Support purchased in the iOS app (including the cases in the preceding two paragraphs) are requested by the User from Apple in accordance with Apple’s refund policy. Because the Company cannot cancel payments made through the App Store, it will respond by guiding the User on how to apply to Apple or by other means the Company considers appropriate. If you purchased Support on the website by mistake, please consult the contact point in Article 18 (a refund is not promised).
Article 9 (Data Storage)
- The Company stores floor plan images uploaded by Users, Diagnosis Results and other User data, by methods the Company determines, for the period necessary to provide the Service.
- The Company does not guarantee the completeness of backups of the data in the preceding paragraph. The Company’s liability for damage caused to Users by loss or corruption of data is as set out in Article 10.
- Before withdrawing or deleting their account, Users shall back up any necessary data themselves.
Article 10 (Scope of Liability)
- The Company is liable for damages suffered by Users in connection with the Service only where there are grounds attributable to the Company.
- Where a User suffers damage due to non-performance of an obligation or a tort resulting from the Company’s slight negligence (meaning negligence other than intent or gross negligence), the Company’s liability for damages is limited to the greater of the total amount the User paid as fees for the Room-Hunting Pass (including amounts paid through the App Store, and excluding the price of Support) in the 12 months preceding the date on which the event that directly caused the damage occurred, or JPY 10,000.
- The limit in the preceding paragraph does not apply to damage caused by the Company’s intent or gross negligence, damage from injury to a person’s life or body, or other cases where limitation of liability is not permitted by law. It also does not apply to refunds of the price of Support under Article 8-2, paragraphs 6 and 7.
- Even if any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the other provisions do not lose their effect.
Article 11 (Prohibited Acts)
Users must not do any of the following in using the Service.
- Acts that violate laws or public order and morals
- Acts that infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy, reputation or other rights or interests of the Company or a third party
- Acts that place an excessive load on the Service’s servers or network, or attempts at unauthorized access
- Acts that interfere with the operation of the Service or damage the Company’s credibility
- Sending a large number of requests using automated tools (scraping, etc.)
- Acts of improperly obtaining or using other Users’ information
- Using the Service in a manner contrary to its purpose
- Other acts that the Company reasonably judges to be equivalent to any of the preceding items
Article 12 (Suspension of the Service and Account Suspension)
- The Company may temporarily suspend all or part of the Service without prior notice to Users in any of the following cases.
- When performing maintenance, inspection or updates of the systems related to the Service
- When provision of the Service becomes difficult due to an earthquake, fire, power outage, natural disaster, spread of infectious disease or other force majeure
- When provision of the Service becomes difficult because of a failure or specification change of an external service (Google Gemini API, Apple, RevenueCat, Stripe, Supabase, etc.)
- Other cases where the Company reasonably judges that suspension of the Service is necessary
- If a User violates these Terms, or if the Company reasonably judges that there is a risk of a violation requiring urgent action, the Company may suspend or delete that User’s account without prior notice.
- If the Company suspends or deletes an account under the preceding paragraph, it will endeavor to notify the User of the reason to a reasonable extent. However, this does not apply where there is a legitimate reason such as preventing misuse.
- If, after suspending or deleting an account under paragraph 2, it turns out that the User did not violate these Terms, the Company will extend the Room-Hunting Pass period by the length of the suspension, or refund the corresponding fee on a pro-rated basis.
- The Company’s liability for damage caused to Users by suspension of the Service or suspension or deletion of an account under this Article is as set out in Article 10.
Article 13 (Ownership of Rights)
- Intellectual property rights relating to the Service (including the Service’s software, design, logos and text) belong to the Company or the rightful rights holders.
- Copyright in floor plan images uploaded by Users belongs to the User. However, the User grants the Company a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use those images (including reproduction, processing and analysis) for providing, operating and improving the Service. This license ends when the image is deleted following a deletion request under Article 4 of the Privacy Policy.
- Intellectual property rights in Diagnosis Results generated by the Service (reports, scores, advice, etc.) belong to the Company. Users may use those results for personal purposes under a license granted by the Company.
Article 14 (Exclusion of Anti-Social Forces)
- The User represents and warrants that he or she is not an organized crime group, a member of one, a company affiliated with one, a corporate racketeer, a person who poses as a social movement or political activist to commit extortion, a special intelligence violent group or any other anti-social force (“Anti-Social Forces”), and that he or she has no socially reprehensible relationship with Anti-Social Forces.
- If a User breaches the representations and warranties in the preceding paragraph, the Company may immediately suspend or delete the account without any notice or demand. In that case, the Company has no obligation to compensate the User for any resulting damage.
Article 15 (Changes to and Termination of the Service; Changes to These Terms)
- The Company may change the content of the Service, or end the provision of all or part of the Service, without prior notice to Users. The Company will endeavor to give advance notice by posting on the Service or by other means to the extent possible. Article 8, paragraph 3 sets out how Room-Hunting Passes are treated when the provision of the entire Service ends.
- The Company may change these Terms without obtaining individual consent from Users, under Article 548-4 of the Civil Code of Japan, in either of the following cases.
- When the change to these Terms conforms to the general interests of Users
- When the change to these Terms is not contrary to the purpose of the contract under these Terms, and is reasonable in light of the necessity of the change, the appropriateness of the changed content and other circumstances related to the change
- When the Company changes these Terms under the preceding paragraph, it will set an effective date and announce that these Terms are being changed, together with the changed content and the effective date, by posting on the Service. A change falling under item 1 of the preceding paragraph (including corrections of typographical errors and other minor changes) may take effect at the same time as it is posted, without individual notice or advance notice. A change falling under item 2 of the preceding paragraph will be announced before the effective date.
Article 16 (Handling of Personal Information)
The Company will handle Users’ personal information obtained in providing the Service appropriately, in accordance with the Privacy Policy that the Company establishes separately.
Article 17 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)
- These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan.
- If a dispute arises concerning the Service, the Tokyo District Court or the Tokyo Summary Court, depending on the amount in dispute, shall have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance by agreement.
