How your home is readBASIS

Hiyori reads your home with the Japanese way of thinking: Kaso and Nine Star Ki. Kaso (Japanese house feng shui) reads the fortune of a home from its floor plan and directions. Nine Star Ki is a Japanese system that reads fortune from your birth-year star and the cycle of directions.

Why results can differ from the feng shui you know

Many countries have their own long-standing schools of feng shui. Hiyori does not compete with them. It shows how a home looks through Japanese Kaso and Nine Star Ki, which use some ideas of their own, so the result can differ from a local school.

How directions are divided
Kaso divides a home into eight directions around the center of the home. Other schools may divide it differently, for example into finer sectors, so the same room can fall in a different direction.
Kimon and Ura-kimon
Kaso treats the northeast (Kimon, the "demon gate") and the southwest (Ura-kimon, the "back demon gate") as directions to be careful with, and avoids putting entrances or wet areas there. Not every school gives these directions the same meaning.
Hari and Kake
Kaso reads parts of a home that stick out (Hari) and corners that are missing (Kake) by direction. A Kake is said to weaken the fortune of that direction. Other schools may read the shape of a home differently.

Neither reading is wrong. They are different traditions, so please use the report as one reference when choosing and living in a home.

Account and loginACCOUNT

With an account, your diagnosis history is saved, which helps when you want to compare several homes. You can also try the diagnosis without logging in.

You can sign up with a Google or Apple account (the iOS app also lets you sign up with an email address). Signing up is free and needs no credit card.

If you forgot your password

In the iOS app, choose "Log in with email" on the login screen, then "Forgot your password" to reset it (logging in with an email address and password is available only in the app).

You can delete your account information and profile any time from "Account settings" in your account pages.

Here are common questions about the service as a whole. For questions about the diagnosis itself, see also the How it works page.

Is the service paid?

Right now you can use every feature, including feng shui diagnosis, for free with no limit on the number of uses. We are considering paid plans and will tell you in advance if we introduce them.

Can I use it without an account?

You can try the diagnosis as a guest. Some features, such as saving your diagnosis history, need you to log in.

Can other people see my results?

Your results are tied to your account and are never made public to third parties. Sharing sends an image created on your device; results are never published at a URL. Please see the Privacy Policy.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. On iPhone you can use the app or the browser, and on Android the browser. You can also photograph and upload a floor plan from your phone.

What if I don't agree with a result?

Mistakes in the directions or floor plan details can change a result. On the result screen, use "Adjust direction" or "Adjust position" to correct the input and diagnose again. If you still have questions, please contact us through the contact form.
